Jacks Fork River Canoe Trip, Friday May 22

We went canoeing on the Jacks Fork River as one of the Ozark National Scenic Riverway. Dean called this a "float" rather than a canoe trip. The river flows very fast, which makes the paddling a "breeze"!

There are wild horses in the area and we were lucky enough to see them getting drinks at the river.
Note the way that Lonie is passing root beer to Dean. I forgot what Dean called this but maybe it was called a "paddle pass". :-)

We think this is an immature Green Heron that we saw on one of the rocky beaches along the way.

We went 8 miles in 3 hrs so you can tell that we stopped twice, once to eat a fried chicken lunch!

Toward the end of the trip we saw this house built on the rock ledge by the river.
There were two young boys on the rock ledge who were jumping intonthe water as we passed. One agreed to do a flip for us, so here he starts. Here he flips over, albeit a little awkwardly!
He does manage to land it very well! This is one couragous kid!
