We saw lots of whales, mostly humbacks. I think at one point I saw two Orchas but they were too far away to identify for sure.
I loved the way the clouds and the sun coming up looked in this photo! It was so beautiful!
Here is the first tail fluke of a humpback.
This is part of the waterfront of a Native American town called Kake. I think this is an old cannery that is no longer operational. The whole town looked very run-down.
You will see lots of tail flukes and many are of different whales. You can tell by identifying the markings on their tails.
One of these fellas also entertained us by breaching several times. I never caught it on camera but my eyes beheld it! He was too far away to get the breaching shot, darn! :-(
This humpback is getting ready to dive!
See the water come off his tail? ...Going...
...Going....
...Gone!
This is the LeConte Glacier just north of Petersburg. It is beautiful and very big. It's a river of ice flowing downhill.
This is coming into Petersburg, showing some of the homes. This place is very proseprous, mainly from fishing. We stopped here but did not have time to get off the ferry.
This is another view of Petersburg, showing the beginning of the working part of the town.
These are lazy sea lions, hauled up on this buoy! Guess they have to like each other to be that close on top of one another!
This float plane dock is guarded by a huge, probably male, sea lion. He is the brown spot at the right-front end of the dock.
These are Black Guillimots. Are you impressed? :-) (At least that is what I think they are!)
