Lehi Roundup Rodeo, June 30, 2012

We served here on the mission with Grant and Lynda Holdsworth, originally from Lehi, Utah, and now from Arizona.  Five years ago we attended this annual rodeo with them. This year, when we saw them at the reunion of all Family and Church History missionaries, Jim asked him if he could get us some tickets to this year's rodeo.  Grant remembered the request and purchased four tickets for us so we could take Adam and Jessica Chevrier, our grandson and his wife, who are attending BYU.  We were also able to go online and get two tickets for Harry and Sherry Carlisle, our Georgia friends who are also here on the mission.
This shows the shoots where all the action starts for nearly each event.  The announcer is in the pink shirt up in the box above the shoots.
This was a team event where they would all ride out after a horse, rope him and get a rider on his back.  Not many teams were able to do this.

Here the horse won!  This is always fun to see!
This was a team cattle roping event.  It was timed to see who could do it the quickest!
Here a cowboy is wrestling the cow to the ground to tie her up, for future branding I assume.
I had to get a shot of the full moon over the crowd.  It was a beautiful night, very hot to start with and then cooling after the sun went down.
