Lehi Roundup Rodeo Bull Riding, June 30, 2012

This part of the rodeo was the most dangerous!  These cowboys ride a bull using only one hand.  You will see in these photos the invaluable work of the clowns in preventing injury to a "downed" cowboy.  I think the clowns are real heroes.

This clown even puts his hand on the bull to get his attention and lead him away from the cowboy on the ground.  I cannot imagine facing down a bull like that!

These bulls twist and turn as well as buck.  They are so unpredictable.

Here the cowboy is on the ground and the bull is turning toward him!
The clowns distract the bull from the cowboy on the ground!

Look how high this bull bucks!
This bull is twisting as he bucks. Many of these cowboys wear helmuts and face masks.

Some cowboys do not wear any protection.

 They get thrown anyway!
You can see the clown getting ready to divert the bull.  These clowns are very brave.  The cowboy riders are especially brave also, of course!

Most bulls start bucking right out of the shoot!
At the end of the rodeo they herd the cattle and the horses out into the arena to show they were all fine and to honor their participation.
